ABOUT US
Before the foundation became Disaster Sources it was known as Victims Helping Victims, an organization built on compassion, advocacy, and community service. Our founder received the Jeb Bush Award for Community Service, the Florida Department of Health Award for Health and Outreach, and recognition from the NAACP for outstanding service during Hurricane Wilma. Through partnerships with Modern Age Furniture, Walmart, FPL, and community leaders, we helped families recover by providing furniture, emergency assistance, and safer living conditions for displaced residents.
Today, Disaster Sources Lena D. Tiger Foundation continues that legacy by providing free hurricane and winter supplies, food boxes for families in need, and hot meals for individuals experiencing homelessness. Through community partnerships and generous donors, we remain committed to helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
